Giftable Twisted Treasure Pouches

The inspiration for these pouches came from watching a YouTube tutorial by Paula Beardell Krieg.  I've used her method for making a Twist Box which she uses as the top layer of a Zhen Xian Boa, aka a Chinese Thread Book.  I'm currently working up to making a Chinese Thread Book of my own and will share it on my blog when its done. I put together a short, sped up video to give you a glimpse of how I created and stenciled a Twisted Treasure Pouch with StencilGirl Stencils.  (Please excuse my well used craft mat and inky fingers...)

  I'm so excited to share my paper love affair with you.  I'm enamored with all kinds of paper: old paper, new paper, wallpaper, scrap paper, hand made paper, Washi paper: yup, pretty much all paper.   I'm always looking for new and creative ways to use it in my mixed media projects.  And I'm absolutely in love with this project.

 

Folded and stenciled by your own hand, Twisted Treasure Pouches make a truly personal envelope to enclose a small gift or memory token inside. They are perfect for tucking away special mementoes to keep them close. 

Imagine giving one you made to someone special with a hand written note enclosed.

Or receiving one of your own to hold a ticket stub from that special evening last summer, along side of a snippet of velvet ribbon from you child's wedding bouquet, a spicy fragranced flower from your Grandmother's favorite Carolina Sweet Shrub Bush, and a piece of lace from your Mom's apron.  Then again, you could also just use them to hold paper clips, but I have a feeling that you may be just a little bit more sentimental than that.
